Move over Navy, it's Teals turn to take the spotlight. And about time too.
Teal. Do you have any teal clothing in your wardrobe? If you don't, you really should read on and open your mind to its magical powers. There is no doubt that colour influences how we feel. Wearing the right colours, will not only lift our spirits or support a mood, it can send signals to others about who we are and have us absolutely shining brightly.
Why Teal
Teal is quite unique in that it's regarded as a Universal Colour, meaning that it will look good on everyone. Different to a Neutral Colour which is one that goes with loads of others. Though I would suggest, that Teal could very well be a trusty neutral too.
A blend of blue and green, Teal has both cool (cool green) and warmer (warm blue) undertones and THAT's what makes it so universal.
Which Team Teal Are You?
From deeper, darker tones to the lighter variety, there are different types of Teal and some will work better for your personal colour palette than others. A great place to start is with Cool and Warm options. Yes, there are cooler and warmer teals!
- Team Cool - you a Cool colour girl if cool colours with their blue (and sometimes pink) undertones look better on you? Cool girls wear silver better.
- Team Warm - maybe you're a Warm colour girl with yellow undertones to your skin, tending to wear gold and other colours that have than yellower tinge to them.
Team Cool - What to Team Your Teal With
To keep the vibe 'cool' team your Teal with white, other blues and even black (if black works for you). Pinks and purples will work for you too as will greys.
Team Warm - What to Team Your Teal With
Think those golden colours - yellows, oranges, corals and reds. Black if you are a deep warm girl.

Understanding the colours that work best for you can be life changing. As we age, our colours may change too. Maybe you had your colours done back in the day but not so recently. If that's the case, consider having them done again. It's so liberating and life is so much easier when you can take your colour swatch with you and know in an instant if what you're considering to buy, is going to make you shine. The right colours will do that. it's so uplifting.
