Love Emma

Before she died from Melanoma in April of 2017, the beautiful Emma Betts touched the lives of so many. Beyond her very much loved and supported Dear Melanoma blog, Emma set up Love Emma. An online shop where you can purchase gifts for loved ones enduring the toughest moments of their lives.

Since her passing, Emma's parents have kept their promise and continued on with the Love Emma business and Emma's passion for raising funds for research. So, every $ of profit made goes straight to funding Melanoma research in Emma's honour. This family has worked very hard supporting the Melanoma Institute of Australia during and since Emma's illness.

Emma was a one in a million. Intelligent, cheeky, a 'force of nature' and taken far too bloody early! Compassionate and with a generous spirit, Emma chose not to take her terminal disease lying down. She was a tireless fundraiser for Melanoma research and an educator, talking to one of the hardest groups to convince to cover up in the sun, high school students.

I was blessed to know Emma and think about her every, single, week. She wrote about sun safety for our Blog and we supported her fund raising efforts too.
The month before Emma passed away, we had a Pavlova and Prosecco morning tea to raise funds for research. It was lovely and we raised $1000. But to be honest, to make the impact we want to going forward, I thought there must be a better way.

So Tamra (Emma's Mum) and I chatted about this earlier this year and decided that we'd promote the Love Emma Gift Packages. We'd help get the word out by promoting them on the Sequins and Sand website in our Give section and take the orders. Tamra will then dispatch them from Love Emma HQ also here in Brisbane.
