Bloxsun

Bloxsun™ is a company based in sunloving Miami in the USA. They're innovators in women's sun smart, sun protective accessories with their Sun Scarves and Sun Gloves. Not only are the fabrics heavenly to touch and wear, they're really, really good for you!

Australia has the highest incidence of sun cancer in the world. Trouble is, many products whilst having been really practical and serve a wonderful purpose, don't really look that fabulous on. Bloxsun are addressing a gap in the market for stylish, fashionable sunwear and we are thrilled that they do.

Made for women in their 30's, 40's and beyond who are looking to protect themselves from the sun's harmful rays while at the same time look elegant and stylish, Bloxsun's products reflect the belief that sun protection must be functional as well as fashionable, with no exceptions.

The lovely Inslee owns and runs Bloxsun. She brought out attention to her wonderful products and we're so glad she did. And we are very proud to be offering them online here in Australia.

The fabrics used are amazing and you can be assured that they meet rigorous safety standards too. Here's a bit more about them as described by Bloxsun.

About Bloxsun's UPF - Ultraviolet Protection Factor Fabric:

"The fabric used to make this product has been tested and rated UPF 50+ according to tests done in an independent laboratory. UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor which tells a consumer how much of the sun's UV radiation is actually absorbed.

A fabric with a 50 rating will allow only 150th of the sun's UV rays to pass through it.

The tests done on our fabric were to the standards in accordance to the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) Test Method 183 and the American Society for Testing and Materials ASTM D6544 Treatment test. The AATCC 183 test defines the UPF rating of a fabric as the ratio of the UV measured without the protection of the fabric with protection of the fabric.
Used in conjunction with this test, the AATCC 183 test then simulates the life cycle of that fabric.

The UPF rating is then again determined after the end of the fabric's life cycle – which is when most fabrics provide the most reduced level of UV protection. The method by which the UPF guidelines are based was developed and established in Australia in 1994. The Australian/New Zealand Standard for Sun Protective Clothing and Swimwear is now considered the industry standard in rating of all sun protective fabrics and clothing."

Go the Aussies and the Kiwis! How wonderful that we get to use what we set the standards for.

Thanks Inslee. We think your work is outstanding and your products stylish, sensible and the best sun protection accessories we've ever seen.

Grab yours here girls. What have you got to loose when there's much to save.
