Sun fashion that not only looks fabulous, is so very practical too. We all know that shielding ourselves from the sun, particularly in the middle of the day, is smart. Enter Australia's Sunbella, a fashion label based in WA, established by mother and daughter team, Jillian Intini and Casey Bryden.
"Our aim is to influence womens' attitudes towards sun safety, by solving the frustrating conundrum of having to choose between being sun-smart or stylish."
As a nurse, Jillian met hundreds of skin cancer patients and heard first-hand about their unwillingness to sacrifice style for existing sun-safe apparel. "We developed Sunbella based on a philosophy that women should be able to enjoy an outdoor lifestyle safely and with style."
Sunbella parasols are stylish accessories with the highest possible UPF rating, making them a refreshing alternative to existing sun protection options. A regular parasol has about half the sun protection rating.
The girls have taken their business from the local markets to international stage, with the Sunbella parasols being recognised for their practical and stylish solution to the problem of being sun safe.
At home, Sunbella has been advocated by a range of high profile bloggers and Instagramers. Fashion icons Nikki Parkinson and the Lord Mayor of Perth, Lisa Scaffidi are self-proclaimed Sunbella lovers.
